Toolkit

Question Cards

Resources:

Question cards (little re-usable cards with a Q/? written on it) Or you can use tokens?

How It Works:

During group /independent task/work give each group/student an amount of Question cards (2 or 3) which they can ‘spend’ to ask the teacher a question.

This ensures pupils think carefully before asking a teacher a question and encourages them to save their cards by finding other ways to answer the question (i.e book, buddy etc).

You can differentiate by the number of question cards a group is given, or perhaps limit a group/student to getting YES or NO answers only.

Variations:

If they ask another group they can exchangea question or give that group their question card…
