Shadowing

Resources:

You? Or a Student?

How It Works:

When asking students to write a short answer for an exam/demonstrate a technique for a practical piece. Why not demonstrate it to the students first fully? Ask them to shadow youexplain this concept of shadowing and how it is used in the workplace for example?

You could write out the answer word for word/show the technique while the students watch? They must highlight what you do/how you do it. (This can be reffered to as a master class.)

Why not ask a student to lead the shadowing in a particular topic area for all others/group of others?

Variations:

Ask students to talk through their answer as they are writing/demonstrating it- use an iPAD to record it as you are typing?

When setting the students a mock paper- sit it with them? Then get somebody to peer assess your answers?
